T he sleeved weskit was a popular garment in the 1750's, and was not uncommon in the 1770's. Popular as a light outer garment for working folk, it was also worn by the upper classes. Our sleeved weskit is typically made of wool and lined with fustian, with pewter buttons on the front closures and pockets. The sleeve is typically straight, but turnback cuffs, or other treatments are available on request.
The sleeved weskit has proven over the years to be a popular "jacket" for many, and can be tailored to fit your personna or existing "kit" with quite a bit of flexibility. It is David's favored jacket for deer hunting, since it can be combined with various other shirts and/or a weskit to just match the temperatures of the central Oregon mountains.
The Roger's Rangers coat is based on a sleeved weskit with wool lining and turnback lapels and cuff treatments as shown. The coat is in keeping with the popular conception of the coat worn by Roger's men (remember, there is NO known extant example of a Roger's Rangers coat). Inside breast pockets, linen lining, and 1750 or 1770 lengths are options available with the sleeved weskit. Plain white metal (pewter) buttons are used. Silver or gold lace may be applied by hand for officer's coatees.
Fit samples are included on sleeved weskit and Ranger's coats.
